Wellness coaching
A Lifestyle Medicine Approach for Practical Embodiment
We see it everywhere these days: information about getting fit, enhancing your sleep, improving your diet, and all the consequences associated with inaction. In the information age, the question is not, “do we have enough evidence?” the question is, “what motivation do I need to act?”
Wellness coaching is a holistic approach to behavior change that honors the inherent wholeness of the individual. The underlying theme of coaching is self-efficacy—the belief in your capacity to enact meaningful change and leverage motivation.
You’ll be encouraged to explore your strengths, build upon past success, approach barriers with curiosity, and to link your present goals with your unique health-outcome vision.
Lifestyle contributes to the top causes of death and disability, influencing sexual arousal and desire in their progression. Even slight developments in the 6-pillars of health are predictive of longer health-span, improved mental health, and reduction in chronic disease risk. As the physical body is ground zero for sensation, efforts towards wellness greatly impact our sexual selves.
Through the process of building an articulate and compelling image of wellbeing, discovering individual strengths, setting challenging yet attainable goals, and celebrating your wins, you’ll allow self-efficacy to flourish.
Coaching is useful to address goals involving:
- Eating an adequate, individualized, varied, and nutritious diet
- Engaging in regular and enjoyable physical activity both structured and otherwise Increasing - Awareness of stressors and implementing bodyfulness practices in your daily life
- Discovering embodied connection to self, others, and the more-than-human community
- Investigating relationship to substance use and growing towards diverse sources of pleasure
- Engaging in practices to increase the quality and quantity of restful sleep
- Resolving ambivalence toward behavior change
- Discovering values, strengths, and a compelling wellness vision
